Following a period of 6 years of maturation in our cellar, we proceeded to double age the Chamarel XO. This time, it was aged for an additional 2 years in a cask that had previously held Port wine. This particular rum is a delightful blend of the delicate notes found in Port wines and the rich flavor profile of a chamarel aged rum. Port wines are a type of fortified wine that originate from the Douro Valley in northern Portugal. They are known for their sweet and rich taste and are commonly enjoyed with desserts.
Tasting profile
The flavors undergo a transition from smoky to sweet, resembling the taste of honey. Additionally, a blend of figs and dark fruits can be savored, resulting in a delightful and harmonious finish.
