October is Breast Cancer Awareness month

Talia is collaborating with Link to Life to assist in providing as many free breast cancer screenings as possible for those less privileged in the month of October.

Every breast screening costs around Rs700 and Scott is aiming at raising as much money as possible to assist with as many free screenings as possible. Therefore during this whole month Scott & Co Ltd pledges to donate 20c on every Talia pack purchased in the retail sector and Rs5 for every pack purchased on www.ScottHomeDelivery.mu.

Talia educational campaign #tonn fer to depistaz focuses on the importance of regular breast screening because EARLY DETECTION SAVES LIVES!!

When it comes to breast cancer, for both men and women, it is important to know your body and be your own health advocate. Learn about your family history, and if breast cancer does not run in your family, don’t rule it out!

85% of women diagnosed do not have a family history of breast cancer. In Mauritius around 1,500 new cases of breast cancer & 350 deaths (breast cancer) are recorded every year.

Breast self examination is a simple, painless procedure that women can carry out by themselves at home, to detect any changes occurring in their breast. It has been proven to be an effective early detection technique for breast cancer. Breast self-examination should be performed every month as from the age of puberty.

So help us spread the word to educate on self-screening to detect breast cancer early.
